Ginger Ale when you're sick?

Do ginger ale and 7-up really help when youre sick? If so, how come?Ginger Ale when you're sick?
I was given Ginger Ale when I was sick in the hospital. I can't stand the taste of it. I was told it would "help settle" my stomach. I guess the bubbles help calm your stomach. However, this week I had the flu and I drank Ginger Ale and threw it up anyway. :( I guess my stomach wasn't ready to be calmed!
they definetly help me. its because they are highly carbonated.
Here a few reasons:
They are fluids, which help you stay hydrated, and ginger helps settle a queasy stomach. They both provide some sugars (provided they are not diet versions) to keep your blood sugar stabilized when you are not taking in food.
these are called ,home cures, they have no medical value and work on the placebo affect
the help in clearing indigestion by reliving the gas from ur stomach
Both sodas have a lot of sugar and that can sometimes calm a queasy stomach. Ginger is great for nausea and upset stomach and can even be used by pregnant mothers for morning sickness. However, ginger ale no longer has enough real ginger in it to make a difference. You can get ginger capsules and even ginger gum to calm nausea from anything: motion sickness, pregnancy or even a stomach bug.
