I have frequent headaches, but it's only in the back of the head, from the top of my backneck to below the round bit of the back of the head. The aches feel like there was a metal board put under my skin. It happens mainly when I wake up and can stay all day.
What is causing this and how to cure it?Frequent backneck headaches?
It sounds like you have a problem with your pillow or sleeping habits. When the muscles at the neck and back become tense and 'trigger-pointed' they can cause headache pain (referral pain). I would recommend going to a massage therapist that has full credentials. (Check for a license and association membership for insurance) They should be able to help find out if it is indeed a muscular problem, make sure you let them know if you sleep on your stomach or side etc and what kind of pillow you use. All these things can cause headache pain. Good luck!
sound like a tension headache.
Relax, get a better pillow, and take advil.
You should probably see a chiropractor. You are probably sleeping on your neck wrong, which is causing your head to hurt. This explains why it starts when you wake up. You can try a tempurpedic pillow.
